As we see stuck up cardboards and acrylic boards pinned up between tables at restaurants here in Hong Kong, Elenberg’s interlocking Perspex sheets in bright fluro and colourways inspired by the Australian bush is a breath of fresh air.

Inspired by Playplax children’s design toy in the 70’s, Melbourne-based Zahava Elenberg has transformed its very concept into Clikclax, a mobile system for any communal spaces. Light, clever, and easy to assemble, the design was born out of the necessity to combat post-pandemic, and for Elenberg to have her team to return into the office.

“Clikclax is a colourful, fun design-based answer to the deeply unimaginative sneeze-guards that have become ubiquitous since the arrival of Covid-19,” Zahava explains. “Clikclax is a verb as well as a noun, and my dream is to see people Clikclaxing all over the world. There’s nothing we can’t click together.”

On top of that, $5 from every online sale will be donated to one of a series of Australian charities, with the first month’s donations going to WWF’s Adopt a Koala appeal.
