In hands with Artek, the Finnish design house, Marimekko, will be presenting their FW16 home designs at the heart of Milan Design Week 2016, during the 12th to the 17th of April, 2016. Guests will be invited to an apartment on Via Palermo, to experience the aesthetic and the functional designs by the brand.
Exhibiting a unique Finnish thinking, the Marimekko Home explores in an interplay with their classic and recent prints, designed by names such as Oiva Toikka, Maija Isola and Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi, Aino-Maija Metsola, Maija Louekari and Sanna Annukka. The space is set up with a strong, confident woman character in mind, where a strong sense of self expression with bold prints and colors are included. Cozy and charming, the space continues Marimekko’s aim ever since their beginning in 1951, which is to “empower people in their daily lives and encourage them to turn their homes into a source of inspiration and means of self-expression”, as told by Marimekko’s Creative Director Anna Teurnell.
