Miss Bean Solo Exhibition "Flos" and book launch

Those in Hong Kong would most likely have heard of the name Miss Bean from her commercial works, as she has been shooting and directing various music videos, CD covers, and TVCs for local celebrities. Like a breath of fresh air in the local community, her bold style glimmers with a vibe of Japanese gentleness.

As a graduate from the School of Design at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong with a major in Visual Communication, she won the Hong Kong DFA Young Talent Design Award in 2017 and has since been working between Hong Kong and Tokyo as a professional photographer. Represented by Mikiya Takimoto Photograph office in Japan, she has returned to Hong Kong to celebrate her latest book, “FLOS” with an art exhibition.

Diving into imagery and concepts of female qualities and flowers, see her poetic representation below.

Flowers abloom
As life abruptly cut short
In the most exquisite of sights
One can spectate
Her grace withering, slowly and surely
An oxymoron of beauty in death

Birthed with forms and characters each unique
Enacting life and death in synchronicity
As flowers meet girl
A new hybrid of life comes into existence
Born unto another parallel universe
Thriving in unchartered space and time

Flos explores moments of life and death
How their similarities and differences
Give birth to forms of life never before seen
A series of postures yet undiscovered
A space where we can dilly-dally
Where these oxymorons of beauty are preserved
As we live and breathe death, and immortality
