The recent works by French- German painter Dorothee Recker focuses solely on the merging of colors, where she creates gradient-like canvases with oil. Tirelessly painting and spreading the pigments on the canvas to remove any visible lines, Recker has formed 5 different series with these colorful pieces. Including “Quicksands”, “Tropiques”, “Tides”, “Grands Bleus”, and “En Négatif”; different pieces from these series will be exhibited in her latest show at Misia Gallery.
Recker who was born in 1984 grew up in the South of France graduated from the French National school of Fine Arts in Paris. As a young artist, she moved to Berlin and established her name in the local art scene there, earning her exhibition experiences in Berlin, Paris, and United States. She is currently based in Paris.
