If you have watched the Hong Kong music awards show hosted by radio station 881 and 903 annually on the 1st of January before, you would notice that every year, the hosts are dressed under a particular theme. Most of the time it is quite quirky, either appearing in origami-like apparels, or presenting awards in all white outfits. Apparently, for 2015, local brand röyksopp gakkai was the official costume designer for the show.

This local brand which was established in 2014 stands for “Mushroom Club” in Norwegian and Japanese. They believe that fashion is not just limited to clothing, but a method which expresses a unique set of aesthetics. Inspired by a range of 90’s American movies, including Rushmore, Heathers and Napoleon Dynamite, the brand focuses particularly on details. The edgy outlooks that they have created has successfully attracted names such as Lady Gaga.

This 2016, they have decided to work with Lomography to explore in another form of beauty. Presenting their 2016 FW collection – Socialphobia Club as a pop-up store in the Lomography Gallery Store this month, they have especially incorporated different fairy tale like tailors and fabrics from the 18th to the 19th century to create a “Kurokawa” (scary cuteness) style for this collection. Showcased also as a range of photography pieces, this collection depicts the process of a young girl growing into an adult lady.
