My social media newsfeed has been bombarded with Emily in Paris in the past week. Though I enjoy high fashion, I’m not a fan of Emily’s outfits. I prefer one statement-making item in a total look instead of having too much going on. And the one item I usually go for is either a signature handbag or a nice, fancy hat.
This brings me to the Tehran-born, Toronto-raised, Berlin-based artist and designer, Maryam Keyhani. Creating loud, surreal, but fantastical and whimsy hats, her works are both fashion and sculptural art at the same time.
Having been featured in Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue since 2017, she will be making her debut in Hong Kong at On Pedder at the end of this year. Bringing along her collapsible straw hats, fabric concoctions, and other elegant headpieces, this Autumn/ Winter 2020 collection fully expresses her style of modern beauty.
The Maryam Keyhani hat collection will be available in Hong Kong exclusively at On Pedder New World Tower store from October 30 – November 20, 2020.
