Joyce x Dries Van Noten

The yellow and the blue; the green and the red, the contrasting colors merge together and then fade apart, creating this dream-like space which captures the true essence of the creative genius’ mind.

It is Dries Van Noten’s 30th anniversary, and in order to learn more about the mastermind himself, JOYCE has decided to visit Noten’s hometown in Antwerp, to create a Fall Winter 16 shoot which “capture(s) a glimpse of what inspires brilliance.”

Teaming up with photographer Wing Shya and creative director Sean Kunjambu, the campaign depicts Noten’s hand-picked models in the Arthur House, which is surrounded by the countryside and undoubtedly, influential to Noten’s years of work. “The colours are incredible and I like that you have a very atmospheric outside setting and an unexpected house interior – I think that works as a really nice contrast,” Noten exclaimed.

As a “historical centre for the textile and tailoring industries and a hub of fashion design talent”, the photos have managed to capture not only the beautiful atmosphere of Antwerp but also the beautiful fashion which is significant to both the designer himself and to his supporters from around the world.
