A traveller, a painter, a business owner and a wife; Thaneeya from Florida went through college for 7 years in search of her true passion, ending up with what I’d call now as a little art empire of hers. With a BFA in painting, her skills are obvious, but her pattern creations aren’t as simple as it seems. Time consuming and patience needed, she launched www.art-is-fun.com to share with others her tips on creating abstract art, photorealistic sketches as well as the proper usage of pencil crayons. Her works are also widely distributed around the globe, selling hundreds of originals to art collectors and selling merchandises through her and her husband’s company, Thaneeya LLC.
She’s the feature for this week’s art and culture section not only because of her art works, but precisely because she is living the artist dream by combining commercialized components within her career. I once remember hearing people judge artists when they turn “commercialized”, going to art expos and selling out to galleries and art collectors, releasing works that are not of their usual style. I completely think its a ridiculous accusation, because as strong an artist is, sticking to their passion and love for creations; they need to eat and live just like you and me. By combining their skills with a good business plan to achieve the goal of producing more artworks is, for me at least, the wisest way to carry on their career.
