How has the fashion world changed?
As we continue to submerge ourselves in the sea of trends, high-end labels and popular styles, where did these amazing designs first emerged from?
JOYCE, in hands with Byronesque, a “women’s vintage fashion shop and blog, including designer vintage clothing from London, UK, New York, and Paris” will be executing the first ever ‘shop-able’ exhibition, titled “Histoires”. To be hosted at Pacific House from the 11th to the 13th of September, the exhibition will act as a hub where the crafts by names such as House of Chanel, Alaïa, Comme des Garçons, Maison Martin Margiela, and Issey Miyake will be showcased. What is the most interesting here, is that the vintage pieces from these iconic brands will be juxtaposed next to their latest FW15 collections, so that fans can look into the histories of their favorite brands, and see the changes and progress that they have made to the world of fashion.
Aiming to introduce the hidden stories behind these extraordinary designs for viewers, they encouraged people to show greater appreciation for the art of fashion, since “the energy around these designers’ creative defiance remains visceral today and their originality is as contemporary as ever”, said Gill Linton, founder of Byronesque. Visit the exhibition to provoke your senses, and enjoy this new demonstration of fashion, where designers and their creations are properly respected at the level that they deserve.
