Siam not only is the most highlighted location for tourists, it’s also a great home to local designers and Thailand brands. In Siam Center just off the BTS Siam sky train stop; Tango on the Fashion Visionary floor (3rd) has taken their store and decorated it like a merry- go- round with dangling purses and shelves of stilettos, surrounding guests with rounds of tribal looking goodies. Husband and wife founder of the brand, Mr. Chaiyose Pachdasada and Mrs. Kanvara Pachdasada has built Tango into the recognized luxury purse and accessories brand in Thailand with their expertise in leather and mixed medias.
Each handbag is unique with different materials and patterns; sometimes animal skin print sometimes cross stitched linings as details. A large variety of sizes and shapes are offered, already differing themselves with a lot of other handbag brands. They don’t just alternate between the fabric used but also the whole construction of the bag, signifying the amount of care and design that they undertake for each product from their collection. I was especially attracted to the adornments they use on their bags. Sometimes a faux fur tail keychain, sometimes beads, and sometimes leather tassles; these little goodies are also for sale to be styled on your own purse.
Techniques of patch working, blocking as well as layering do not only appear in their handbag collections but also within their shoe items. The traditional but contemporary modernized vibe is strongly given off by their mixed usage of gems, suede and leather linings. Original and very cute, the brand made a strong impression on me with their Thailand representing identity expressed through metropolitan and hip designs of high- end runway quality handbags and accessories.
